Washington Post: Grand jury rejects criminal charges in death of Robert Saylor, man with Down syndrome
Robert Saylor, a 26-year-old man with Down syndrome, sat in a movie theatre after having watched a movie, acting as if he was going to sit through the movie again without buying another ticket. That prompted three police officers to kill him.Friday, a grand jury determined that no crime was committed, even though his death was ruled a homicide.

Before forming an opinion, read the news story in full. Mine changed by the end of it.

It’s like whoever wrote the title and summary hoped/assumed no one would actually read the article.

Q
I really want Betta (i know all the requirements and whatnot) but I always have my nails painted, it's my main hobby. So could I not touch the water with polish on or is it something that can slide occasionally?

As long as the nail polish is completely dry and there aren’t any other glues or glitters involved etc you’re fine.

Nails are a big hobby of mine. Dry polish is no biggie to go in the tank, as long as it’s not chipping off and getting in the water I guess.

I only do my nails on a day I know I won’t be dipping my hands in the water, to be sure no acetone or any residue of anything gets in the water. That stuff evaporates quickly but stays on your skin for longer than you might think.

My favorite fishkeeping experience: Guppy chasing other guppy ends up chasing own tail

Oh my god

followed closely by the males doing their mating dance for each other. however, weirdest being the white cloud in the tank that followed. settle down, boys.. you are brothers

I’ve been dosing 1 teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon with daily 100% water changes for the past six days for some fin rot he has. It seems to be getting worse than when I started! It wasn’t horrible and still isn’t extreme but I can tell.

He is acting fine but he has this spot that wasn’t there last night on his head. I’m thinking maybe I should go up on the salt dosing for the next few days? I wasn’t going to go past 10 days total of treating.

His fins don’t look rotted anymore, only ragged, which will heal in time.

I’m not sure if that’s hole in the head disease or just slime coat coming off from salt treatment?

Friends, input?

Would is be best for me to discontinue using salt? I have a very hard time photographing him. The end of his tail just looks… stringy and like some bits are about to fall off.

Today I learned that Wizard has a tiny green mustache and I have no idea how to photograph fish. Tips?

Hello fish people. I got these plants from someone and I am not sure what they are. pretty sure that’s duckweed, but I have no clue about the others.

Some sort of moss? It’s very stringy and just floats around.

Some little stems plants? They have roots and there are several pieces all tangled up.

Also that leaf in the middle of the second picture, it has roots?

I’ve been trying and I just can’t identify these plants.Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :)

Riccia, duckweed, a wisteria leaf (keep floating, may grow roots, may die) and the stem plant may be moneywort but idk!

thank you so so much. <3

no problem!

Definitely moneywort, a SUPER easy plant. You could pop that in the sand right now if you want. I bought a bundle of it from petsmart and it’s growing like mad

Sounds nice! Thank you :)

I finally caught a picture of him! He just flops down onto this plant and it is so funny. Every time I try to get a picture he swims away but I finally got it and he’s just looking at me like “Do it, whatever” hahaha
I’ve never had a betta but he is seriously growing on me and I love him more everyday!
his name is Wizard. He’s in heated, filtered, cycled 3 gallon and he rules

The crypt in a cup is a really cute idea :3

Thanks :) I impulse bought the little crypts when I realized the new pet store had live plants, and realized when I got home that they can’t really be planted in gravel! So some little cups and potting soil TOPPED with gravel works, ha!
Wizard digs it, too.
